Report of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights: “Technical guidance on the application of a human rights-based approach to the implementation of policies and programmes to reduce preventable maternal morbidity and mortality.” (FWI Policy Brief)

The Commissioner’s report has little to do with maternal mortality and morbidity, and instead, is a thinly veiled attempt to establish highly controversial sexual rights as international human rights. The phrase “sexual and reproductive health rights” is repeated 29 times, even though this controversial phrase has been rejected by UN Member States every time it has been proposed in UN negotiations.
