UN International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education: Excerpts Showing Lack of Evidence for CSE

The excerpts below from this UN Technical Guidance on CSE reveal that despite the UN’s claims, there is no evidence that CSE is effective in preventing teen pregnancies or STDs. Most studies done to date have not even measured these important stated goals of CSE. In fact, the excerpts below show that the UN is fully aware that, among other problems, not enough studies had been done on CSE in developing countries and that existing studies suffered from “inadequate descriptions” of their programs as well as an “absence of pertinent non-randomized, non-controlled studies and qualitative studies.”
