Sharon Slater is the president of Family Watch International (FamilyWatch.org), a nonprofit organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. She also chairs the UN Family Rights Caucus (UNFamilyRightsCaucus.org) and is a consultant to multiple UN Member States, including African and OIC countries on human sexuality and family policy issues.

 

Sharon writes a regular column for “The Family Watch,” an online publication read in over 170 countries, and she has authored numerous policy briefs on family issues. She also chairs the Global Family Policy Forum for UN ambassadors and delegates held annually.

Sharon is the author of the highly acclaimed book, “Stand for the Family: A Call to Responsible Citizens Everywhere” (StandfortheFamily.org). Filled with social science-based talking points and research on many sensitive topics including on human sexuality,
“Stand for the Family” has been used by pro-family and pro-life advocates around the world to successfully defend marriage, family, and life in public policies.

 

Sharon is a world-renowned speaker having presented at many international government events and World Congress of Family conferences around the world.

Sharon founded and chairs the “Families for Orphans” project (See FamiliesforOrphans.org) and is an advocate for international and domestic adoption.

 

In 2007, Sharon was selected by American Mothers, Inc. as the Arizona Mother of the Year. She her husband Greg are the parents of seven children, including three siblings from Mozambique orphaned by HIV/AIDS whom they adopted, and they have five grandchildren.
