Unprecedented UN Opportunity: Apply to Participate Virtually on FWI’s CSW65 Team!

We are excited to inform you of an unprecedented opportunity to participate in CSW65 virtually, no matter where you live, at no cost to you beyond your Internet connection!

Each year Family Watch International brings a group of carefully selected volunteers to the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to advocate for life and family.

As a UN-accredited NGO, we are normally allowed a maximum of 20 participants. This year, however, due to the pandemic, the 65th session of CSW to be held March 15-26 will be held on a virtual platform, and Family Watch is allowed to register a limitless number of participants.

Our selected CSW65 2021 team members will be able to follow all live sessions online, including plenary meetings, general discussions, ministerial round tables and all side events and parallel events.

This priority theme for CSW this year is Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. The session will also review the Agreed Conclusions of the sixtieth session, “Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development.”

Not many details of the schedule are yet posted, but some information about the session is available at http://www.unwomen.org/en/csw/csw65-2021.

We are thrilled that a virtual CSW will provide many friends of Family Watch International with an exceptional opportunity to participate at a UN Commission without traveling to New York!

We are looking for advocates for life and family who are interested in participating virtually at CSW65 under the UN accreditation of Family Watch International. If you are selected, we will provide you with background and training by Zoom calls preparing you to see clearly what is really going on within the Commission. We ask our volunteers to dedicate 2 hours each weekday of the Commission. Of course you can watch much more than that if you choose.

If you are interested, please click here to fill out one of our UN Volunteer Applications. Please complete your application by February 12. (This will give us time to vet applications and send participants the needed instructions to register on the UN registration system by their deadline of February 22.)

Regardless of the difficult pandemic situation, there is a way you can help us stand for life and family at the UN.

We hope to hear from many of you.
