51 GOP SENATORS KNOCK FDA FOR ABORTION DRUG EXPANSION. A coalition of 51 Republican senators issued a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Food & Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary, urging the officials to suspend approval of the generic abortion drug expansion and reinstate safeguards on mifepristone’s prescription and use that were previously removed while the FDA conducts its abortion drug review. The state of Minnesota told the Trump administration that it would not provide a “substantive response” to a demand the state ban transgender-identifying males from female sports and spaces. A federal judge granted a motion for a preliminary injunction against Loudoun County Public Schools, blocking the suspension of a student for objecting to the presence of a “transgender” girl in the boys’ locker room. SECOND CIRCUIT RULES AGAINST TRANSGENDER INMATE’S EIGHTH AMENDMENT CLAIM. In a ruling in Clark v. Valletta, a divided panel of the Second Circuit ruled that prison officials were entitled to qualified immunity on a prisoner’s claim that they violated the Eighth Amendment by failing to provide him stronger hormone therapy and a vaginoplasty as treatment for his gender dysphoria.
